Being a social science researcher for more then half – a decade during the seventies, and having worked in various national & international projects, I could get an insight into social problems / issues prevalent in our community. The long list of research papers published by me during that tenure could not offer much satisfaction personally, as the same proved merely a table work. Of late, my interest in research witnessed a shift towards action – oriented assignments, consequently the W.O.M.E.N., Hyderabad was founded by the humble self.

Despite the host of miseries and harassment, our women folk, especially the poor and less privileged, seems to rise to the occasion, by joining hands with W.O.M.E.N. Hyderabad. Their self esteem being built through adult education, awareness, skill training, health upkeep and empowerment.

All these 20 years I have tried always to run the activities / programmes by procuring machinery, tools and furniture etc. enrolling more and more number of beneficiaries. I never paid attention to acquire an own premises of W.O.M.E.N. Be it a mistake or an omission, we still bank upon the development strategies for girls / women. Their improved status is more dearer to W.O.M.E.N. whereas the own premises or building shall indeed add values: like contentment, effective monitoring, freedom of activities and security, the programmes (run on beneficiary fees, raw materials, staff, rent of building plus utilities) will form another important aspect for W.O.M.E.N., to proceed further.
