  About Us

Women’s Organisation for Managing Economic and Educational Needs (short name W.O.M.E.N.) was founded by Dr. (Mrs) Azmat Nayeem in Sep 1986. It is a Govt of A.P. registered society having seven competent women in the Governing Body. Though all belong to different academics, they have a basic instinct of social development with a practical approach. Likewise there exists an Expert committee (comprising on H.R., PM&E Fin & Business) which monitors the performance of W.O.M.E.N. Soon after acquiring of 7 years of experience in social research (in Osmania University, Hyderabad WHO / UNICEF and NIH & FW, New Delhi and NIRD & IIE, Hyderabad), Dr. Nayeem switched over to heart felt desire to work with downtrodden and under privileged women and elderly both, and gradually transformed herself in social entrepreneurship.

During this long journey of 20 years, W.O.M.E.N. has passed through several stiff resistances and odds, gathered volunteers and well wishers slowly, and developed rapport with many sister NGO’s, Corporates, Govt. agencies, hospitals and educational institutions etc.

Girls / Women, being the main target audience of our W.O.M.E.N., surrounded with multi-facet social & economic hurdles (eg dowry deaths, poverty, gender bias, eve teasing, contract marriages, etc). were dealt with strength, tact and patience. Evidently the helping hand of our W.O.M.E.N., arose stepwise, that is charity (to start with), welfare (to stabilize) and finally development (to build-up), and time seems to be not far off when a great majority of females (out of the population of 5 lakhs in Asif Nagar) will start exercising their hidden talents. As per our information, innumerable poor girls (exact number quoted elsewhere) benefited through W.O.M.E.N., have gone  into diverse skills, job works, employment and self-enterprises, and opportunities in gulf countries even. Achievement of these girls, is not only of atmost satisfaction to W.O.M.E.N., but a source of inspiration to other beneficiary – girls, as well.

While the magnanimity of the donor agencies abroad towards us is being much exemplary and gratifying, the care and cooperation extended within the country through Govt. Departments and private bodies is also adorable.
